    People working at the leasing office are nice. One of the problem i constantly had was with the toilet. It kept on breaking down and the shower was just horrible. The water from shower was almost a dribble of water. There is no exhaust/ventilation system in the whole building.

    The neighborhood is not that safe. Although nothing happened to me during my stay here, I heard a gunshot in the church next to the building.

    Not a place you would bring your family, but I guess it’s okay if you’re single.

    Some of the other tenants are loud and blast music at all times of day/argue/fight in the hallways but security’s always prompt. That’s one of the best things about the place, especially after they got a new company in, is that there’s security officers around.

    The apartments are small but hot water and gas are free. I’ve never seen a studio that has a balcony and mine is -huge-. The balcony’s more than half the length of the apartment, wide, and fantastic. Kitchen is tiny but the built-in shelves in the closets make up for it. The showers in the building I was in were pathetic but I got moved to a different one and they are A+.

    Maintenance is prompt, quick, and efficient. They’ve been out the next day every day I needed something fixed.

    The leasing office is great too! I love them holding my packages so I don’t have to worry about them getting stolen (happened at one of my prior residences). Some days the person checking in the packages informed me it arrived faster than the post office did. Notification is done via email or by a slip being delivered to the resident’s door. If any bugs are found in the residence they’re quick to call an exterminator at no charge.

    I’ve had my gripes but they revolve around all the blasted events that happen downtown. If you want to move here bear in mind there are dozens upon dozens of races, parades, festivals, and what have you, that happen all spring/summer/fall. Some start blasting noise to test their mics at 5am and others are more respectful and shriek into their megaphones at 7am. Getting around anywhere those days is near impossible. If you work morning shifts you’ll be fine but god forbid you’re 2nd or 3rd shift.

    I still think it’s a good value and I’m living here despite pulling my hair out every time there’s some event going on.

    City view apartments. You have to be new to the area to fall for this. Move in special gets you. I have never lived in apts so disgusting in my life. From the urine in the elevators to homeless people bathing in the community room it gets bad. I can’t believe they would charge so much for apartments that barely meet section 8 standards. A 2 bed with electric is near 1000 a month. I would recommend you continue to apartment hunt I’ve never broke a lease before but I’m looking forward to it like its my birthday. Just disgusting. Staff is lazy. No matter how much they spray or how
    Much you do the bugs will reappear. You would think the price you pay you would be taken care of.

    Great location. Not so great place to live. This property was built 50+ years ago. Despite being bought/sold 5+ times, no-one has invested core maintenance (elevators, plumbing, and windows). After moving in, you will notice the plaster walls start to well up with moisture and crumble as powder around windows and hallway. Bedbugs have been identified at this property. The Mills currently owns this property and are working hard to identify and rectify the problems present.

  8. The main issue I have a problem with is the parking. I understand it is downtown and we have to pay for parking. Fine. But I park in a garage a block away from the apartment and it is suppose to be assigned parking there is another parking lot on the premises(that costs a little more to park there)…now I pay for parking just like the others that live there. And according to their security and leasing office if anyone is parked in a parking spot they weren’t assigned to their car will be t towed. If you park in someone’s spot on the premises and ur not assigned to it they will tow it immediately. But if someone parks in ur parking spot in the garage they ignore it….. I have never gotten my car towed but there has been multiple times someone has parked in my parking spot and I’ve called security and no one knows whats to do about it. As I said before I park a block away already as it is and have to walk home by myself at night. But having to find somewhere to park when no one will follow correct procedures is very frustrating. I pay my fee every month just like the residents that park on the premises. Everytime I call security tell me that there is different security over that building. But no one knows the number to reach them.

    My fiance and I have lived in our apartment since May and we love it. The staff has been amazing and have been very helpful to us in every way. Even our neighbors are friendly. The location of these apartments is perfect for the “city life” with being right off market and a few blocks from Wash Ave. Also, in the summer there are festivals and parades within walking distance so that works out great.

    The only downfall to these apartments is the parking but anywhere you go in the city parking is a problem. Good news is they are constructing a parking lot right now, so that will not be a problem for very much longer. We live at the top of the building and the view is great and since we are high up this winter we have only had to turn the heat on twice so even our power bill is great! So I do recommend renting one of the top floors.

    I moved in the cityview apartment 2 months ago I love my apartment mills is doing alot of renovations. I dont know about the bed bugs I havent seen any in my place. The only bad thing about the apartment is my hallway is not always clean and the elevators are slow other then that I love my place.. Maintence comes very fast I dont know any apartments that repsond to request as fast as they do

    Nice size apartment, laminate floors, granite countertops, good appliances. The location is great if you like events like the St. Louis Rib Fest, Taste of St. Louis, etc. which are right outside the front door. The current owners are investing in the place, parking garage, elevators and trash chutes. The balconies are great, and I imagine some have spectacular views.

    The office, security and maintenance staff are all friendly, helpful and professional.

    Great ‘walk’ score, lot’s of activities and things to see near by.

    Never saw a bug, which I’ve read people complaining about.

    I guess if I had a complaint, it would be about the overall cleanliness of the place. The floors and elevators need more frequent cleaning (actually the elevators are a mess). The laundry room is also pretty bad, but the machines work, which is what is important. Quite a few of the tenants with dogs, don’t pick up after them, so walking on any grassy area is like navigating a mine-field.

    Overall a positive experience, and it met my expectations. Could it have been better? Yes.
    Will it get better with all of the improvement projects underway, definitely!
